Hey all! Welcome to my blog and website. Okay. It’s kinda in the beginning stages – maybe not too much to see here yet, but I’ve got big plans for DesignRandom’s future. Yeah… nice to know, but you’re probably thinking, “So what can I expect RIGHT NOW?”. Well, some useful blog articles about web and graphic design. That’s what you can expect.
I don’t like writing about stuff that is literally all over the internet already – that’s boring for me to write and for you to read. When I write a post, it’s either because I wish that something like it had existed when I needed information or because I’ve found something cool and want to share it with all of you. Well, okay. I’ve got to stay true to the theme here too. I may throw in some completely random stuff once in a while, but I promise it won’t be too whacky… just a little bit.
Now in case you haven’t already noticed, the DesignRandom blog is going to be all about web and graphic design. Hands down, my favorite design tool is Photoshop. So, most of my graphic design posts will be about Photoshop. Rather underrated in the world of graphic design yet such a powerful tool, the possibilities are endless in Photoshop. You can literally create anything that you can imagine. And that just happens to be my favorite thing to do in Photoshop – create things from scratch. In fact, I’ve written a book about just that, and you can get it here.
The second topic I’ll be writing about here on DesignRandom is web design. And when it comes to web design, I am a total WordPress junkie. It’s simply the best invention on the internet since the great WWW itself. Look at it this way: when over 30% of the internet is run on WordPress, there’s got to be a good reason, right? The answer is yes by the way.
Now, I am predominantly a designer, and I’m not overly excited by the coding aspect of web design. So, if you’re like me, here’s some good news. There’s this really neat thing called you-do-the-designing-and-let-someone-else-take-care-of-the-coding (aka. page builders). That’s right. I use page builders. Who wouldn’t? They are fast taking over the world of web design and for a good reason.
That said, my favorite page builder is Elementor. Why? Well, it just happens to be the best one out there – that’s why. In fact, at the time I am writing this, Elementor is being actively used by over 4-million WordPress websites worldwide after just four years of existence. Now if that doesn’t impress you, then you must be living in the thirty-second century or someplace strange.
So, to make a long story short, the web design aspect of the DesignRandom blog is going to be largely concerned with WordPress and Elementor. Of course, I’ll be covering other things too. But if you came here looking for WordPress stuff, I just want you to know you’re in the right place.
And, if you came here looking for a short introduction, you’re in the right place for that too. I’ll be honest. I’ve never met someone who actually enjoyed reading introductions. I don’t like reading them myself. If you do, you’re just a bit weird. Heck! I don’t even like writing them very much.
If I had my way, I would just write, “Hey! This is my blog. It is what it is. Take it or leave it. This has been an introduction. Goodbye!”. But you know, that wouldn’t be very good for SEO (aka. that pain that makes its permanent residence in every blogger’s neck). But I think I’ve spent long enough here by now. So, wish me luck as I sign out of this one and go write something useful for a change. Also make sure to subscribe to DesignRandom so that you’re the first to hear about it when I finally do.
